The Northeast Alabama Audiology Clinic was established over 30 years ago and provides comprehensive audiology services. These services include: auditory and vestibular function assessment, hearing evaluations for all ages, newborn hearing screenings, baseline audiograms for employment, hearing accessories; such as custom made hearing protection plugs and custom fit swim plugs, assistive listening and alerting devices, hearing aid sales and service, hearing aid fittings, and follow-up services as well as counseling and rehabilitation.

Northeast Alabama Audiology Clinic strives to give the best service possible, and offers affordable prices on most brands of state of the art hearing aids. All new hearing aids have a 30-day trial period and we will continue to service the aid if needed for as long as you have the device(s). Most brands can be serviced and repaired at the clinic; if not, we can send them to the manufacturer for repair.

Hearing loss is not necessarily a sign of aging as there are many causes. It can happen to the young and old. Your hearing is very important and you need a provider who will take time to evaluate your needs and make accurate recommendations and be available for follow up care. If you suspect that you or someone you know has developed a hearing problem it’s necessary to be examined by an audiologist or a physician specializing in hearing. If a medical problem is identified in connection with the hearing loss, the audiologist offers a referral to a physician or if you need a service we cannot provide, we’ll refer you to a professional who can.

Symptoms of hearing loss may include: hearing but not understanding; asking people to repeat; feeling that everyone mumbles; and turning up the television volume louder than usual. The good news is that most hearing impairments can be helped; either with a hearing instrument or medically. We can work with you in a number of ways. The first step in help for hearing loss is your willingness to have your hearing evaluated. This along with consultation takes only thirty minutes. It is recommended that you call in advance to set an appointment.

Another service provided by audiologists is evaluating patients who are experiencing dizziness, vertigo, balance problems, and tinnitus (ringing or noises in the ear). Of course, the first person you should see for this is your physician or ENT who would then refer you to an audiologist for an evaluation. At Northeast Alabama Audiology we provide these evaluations. We have advanced equipment for the evaluation of your vestibular system so we assist the physician in his diagnosis and treatment of inner ear disease, such as Meniere’s Disease or possibly even central nervous system problems, such as Multiple Sclerosis.

We are Medicare and Medicaid providers and we accept most insurances. Our clinic is always focused on our patients. What can we do to improve patient care? What can we do to give better service? We are always looking ahead. Constant advances are being made in hearing technology and treatment. If there are new services that we can provide that will benefit patients and physicians in the area then we will incorporate them into our practice.
